Susan Pumpernickel: A cheerful girl who always looks on the bright side of life.  She aspires to be a baker because she loves cupcakes sooo much.  Her best friend is Stormcloud, with whom she spends most of her time.  Others are quite perplexed by their friendship.

Stormcloud Johnson: A gloomy guy who is usually complaining about something.  He tends to be incredibly pessimistic and doesn’t know what he wants out of life.

Rainbow Johnson: Stormcloud’s sassy sister.  Rainbow is an opportunist with an attitude.  She sometimes dresses like a tomboy and likes rollerblading and video games.

Souffle: Suzie’s cranky cat who seems to dislike everyone except for Stormcloud.  Suzie saw the poor kitty at the shelter and just had to have him.

Egret Rivers: A shy bibliophile who spends most of her time at the library. Her favorite things to read are historical fiction and educational books. She also shares Suzie’s affection for cats, and volunteers at the local animal shelter.

Daisy Damselfly: A carefree girl who doesn’t worry about too much. When she’s not out shopping for shoes or getting icecream, she usually just lounges about. For some reason, she was instantly taken by Stormcloud’s dismal demeanor.
